Ladies and Gentlemen

Raise your glasses…

Put a smile on your face…

Prepare to make a speech…

Oh, wait. That would be ME who has to make a speech, right?

Well, believe it or not (and trust me, I am still leery of celebration)

Il Cedro Bed and Breakfast

is

Officially Open

(Ringing bells and blowing whistles inserted here.)

But, in keeping with the “let’s-take-as-much-of-your-time-as-we-can” plan, it wasn’t easy.

This morning, Peppe called “Person #3″ who had our official paperwork. “Come on down,” she said, more or less, as this is a rough translation.

So, we did.

We arrive at her office and are told, among other things, that she is “out in giro“…argh!!!

My initial reaction was

strangle Ladies and Gentlemen

But, then I thought, “Piano, piano…” She hasn’t given us the paper yet.

And, then…only 45 minutes (and two mistakes on her part) later…

Oh, yes, ladies and gentlemen. We have been waiting five messy months for this. Isn’t it bellissima?

INCORRECT FEDERAL PERKINS LOAN PROGRAM LEVEL OF EXPENDITURE ON 2011-2012 CAMPUS-BASED FINAL FUNDING WORKSHEETS

US Fed News Service, Including US State News May 18, 2011 WASHINGTON, May 17 — The U.

S. Department of Education’s Office of Federal Student Aid issued the following press release:

In accordance with the Department of Defense and Full-Year Continuing Appropriations Act, 2011 (P. L. 112-10), on Friday, May 13, 2011 we distributed recalculated 2011-2012 Final Funding Authorizations for the Campus-Based Programs. We have discovered that the Final Funding Worksheets incorrectly indicate the Total Level of Expenditure (LOE) for Federal Perkins Loan Program amounts as $0. The Federal Work Study and Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant funds indicated in the Final Funding Worksheets are correct. here federal perkins loan site federal perkins loan

Although P.

L. 112-10 did not allocate funds to the Department of Education to issue 2011-2012 Federal Perkins Loan Federal Capital Contributions or 2009-2010 Federal Perkins Loan Service Cancellation Reimbursements, LOE was unaffected. In most cases the Final Perkins LOE will not change from what was indicated on the Campus-Based Tentative Funding Worksheet made available February 1, 2011. (See Electronic Announcement dated January 25, 2011 Tentative 2011-2012 Funding Levels for the Campus-Based Programs.) You can review your 2011-2012 Campus-Based Tentative Funding Worksheets through the Self-Service page on the eCampus-Based Web Site.

We apologize for the confusion and inconvenience. We will correct the issue as soon as possible and provide notification to you when the updated information is available.

CONTACT INFORMATION For questions about 2011-2012 Campus-Based allocations, contact the Campus-Based Call Center at 877/801-7168. Customer service representatives are available Monday through Friday from 8:00 A.

    Cherrye,
Auguri and I’ll be down before too long. I had a great time with my sister and brother in law in the Parco Nazionale di Pollino. Next time I’ll go a little further down and stay down there. If you know of hiking trails around there then let me know. I just need someone to hike with like my sister and her husband.

Congratulations!!! I think you’ll find it’s lots of fun running a B&B. The best part is meeting new and interesting people and making them feel at home. The worst part is cleaning, cleaning, cleaning (but we hire someone to do that so no sweat.)

Anyway – I hope it all goes well!
