I hear rumors they might start charging for carry ons soon! Ouch! By the way Cherrye, would love to hear your 2 cents on Centro Commerciale Due Mari that I blogged about recently. Hope you're well.

I read your post, Joe! I agree on many points but well, I left a comment on your site! :-)

Know what counts as a liquid for the carry-on rules. I've seen *so* many women watch their expensive face cream, lip gloss, perfume, etc toss in the trash can after pleading with the TSA folks. I feel so bad for them.

Also, especially for international travelers, know that different airports/airlines have different rules. I wished I would have known this when I showed up for a flight in London and was allowed only one carry-on. Yuck!

Great advice on both the liquids and the carryons. You have to check with EACH airline on the carryons!!

Double check with the airline (online or by phone) if your plane is on schedule. Arrive early to give yourself enough time to get through security. Post 9/11 it takes forever to get through security especially during high season.

I'm amazed at the people who show up at the last minute for International flights departing from the U.S. then freak out when they can't make the flight. There is a reason the airline suggests you get there 2 hours before domestic, 3 hours before International.

It's better arrive early and relax with a book/magazine/newspaper than running and praying that they will hold the plane.

I am with you! I like to get there early, grab a book and a big cup of coffee-and wait!
